    dear i m also … dear i m also newbie..bt as i thnk in switching chords the position of thumb bhind the fret is very imprtant…try placing thumb as supporting fretboard …ur thumb shud nt touch low E strng …as i thnk..

Can someone here explain to me what a "thumb mute" is? Someone told me that I should be thumb muting certain chords and I am not sure what they meant.

    Pressuring your thumb from behind with your index while playing the b chord may help get you start..
